Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update

We have a busy post summer edition of the update, and here are a few points of note in brief:

The Challenge Project have funds available for subject specialist qualifications run by institutions in Tyne and Wear. The deadline for applying for funding is Friday 14 September 2007 for courses starting in September, although there may be some flexibility around courses with a later start date.

The Project is also able to provide FREE tailor-made courses for staff in Tyne and Wear who have contact with potential Skills for Life learners. For more info, email Sue Hawley, Challenge Project Manager.

Rainer South Yorkshire are looking for volunteer Skills for Life tutors/mentors to help support young people at risk of re-offending. Email Kathryn McElvanney for more details.

Finally, if you would like to feature your professional development programmes in the North West Training and Development Showcase and in this e-news update, please contact Vanessa Robinson at the North West Skills for Life Professional Development Advice Service (NWPDAS) email or telephone 0161 902 1140.
