Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update
We have a couple of news items around key documents and strategy for Skills for Life in this edition of the update.
The Education and Skills Bill provides for a strengthening of the free entitlement to Skills for Life training and to a first Level 2 equivalent qualification. The LSC Statement of Priorities sets out how Skills for Life will be funded to 2011. You can find out more from the respective articles.
You'll see that a new fact sheet on ESOL for Work qualifications has been published by the LSC - more below.
Teacher training: LLUK has produced a flowchart outlining the new qualifications for FE teachers. If you would like an overview of how these relate to Skills for Life teacher training, you may like to take a look at the interactive route planner on the North West Skills for Life Professional Development Advice Service (NWPDAS) website.
The North East Training and Development Showcase has been updated, and now holds the latest information on Skills for Life teacher and supporter training programmes in the region. Contact Caryn Loftus if you would like to amend or add your course details.
