Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update
We have lots of information on training and events in this edition of the e-news update! Do remember that Skills for Life Network does not organise or deliver training: you will need to contact the respective organisations for further information or to book places on courses.
Teacher training: if you're looking to undertake Skills for Life teacher training via a distance/flexible route, do take a look at the article on courses being offered by the Essential Skills Resource Centre at the University of Warwick. You'll also see that there are Level 5 Numeracy programmes and a Numeracy Bridging course starting shortly in the Yorkshire and the Humber region.
NATECLA National Conference 'Values and Vision'
University of Warwick 11,12, 13 July 2008: This conference will focus on the changes which the ESOL sector has been facing and the implications for our learners, ourselves as practitioners and for NATECLA as a key national voice
IfL Regional CPD events are now free
The upcoming June CPD half day seminars are now being offered free of charge
Level 5 Numeracy Programmes
Information on a Numeracy Bridging programme and on Level 5 programmes starting soon in the Yorkshire and the Humber region
Mathematics/Numeracy Subject Coaching Networks - North East
The NCETM summer 08 meetings are free and will include activities relating to Functional Skills and distribution of the latest resources available from QIA
National Employer Skills Survey 2007
The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) published the latest edition of its main survey of investment in training by employers in England (National Employers Skills Survey, 2007) on 7th May
New Flexible Study Subject Specialist Diplomas (Level 5)
The Essential Skills Resource Centre is offering flexible study programmes (distance and e-learning tasks plus 7 days attendance at the University of Warwick)
