Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update
We have a busy edition of the e-news update for you.
Following the issue of revised criteria from Ofqual, learners will no longer have to pass functional skills tests in order to get a grade C or above at GCSE. The revised criteria apply for English, maths and information technology GCSEs that will be taught from September next year. Find out more from the article below.
You'll see that two new magazines have been released: the Centres for Excellence in Teacher Training (CETTs) national newsletter, CETT Standard, and the FE Magazine for post-16 mathematics and numeracy educators, produced by the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM). Both magazines are available online. See the articles for more details.
Finally, a reminder that the revised Skills for Life core curriculum is available online on the Excellence Gateway.
