Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update
The Skills for Life Support Programme is up and running, and is accepting applications for funding. There is funding available for action research development, consultancy support, peer exchange groups, customised in-house training (CPD), professional development planning, initial teacher training projects, support for large employers and for family literacy, language and numeracy providers. Find out more in the article below. The closing date for applications is the 12th of October, so do hurry!

What`s new from Tribal?
We are delighted to announce the latest update to Target Skills Gold. Users are now able to select either Skills for Life or Functional Skills at the time of the assessment. The system now provides comprehensive mapping to Functional Skills and incorporates a complete overview of Functional Skills curriculum sections, skills standards, coverage and range statements (as well as those for Skills for Life).
e-learning Content Creation pilot programme launch
Independent work-based learning providers delivering Apprenticeships, E2E and/or Train to Gain programmes are invited to apply for the new capital funding from Friday 2nd October
Free five-day course for teacher educators
If you would like to build your confidence as a teacher trainer and would like an opportunity to reflect on and update your practice, or if you are an experienced ESOL, Literacy or Numeracy teacher who is thinking of becoming a teacher trainer, then this course is for you. Preston: Mon 26th, Tues 27th, Weds 28th October 2009 and Sat 9th and 16th January 2010, 10.00am - 4.00pm.
