Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update

A very Happy New Year to you all!

Firstly, a reminder: if you'd like to get up to speed on functional skills, you may like to attend one of the regional network events being held in March 2010. Network events, run by the Functional Skills Support Programme, provide practitioners and managers with the latest information on functional skills, along with an opportunity for networking and planning. See the attached article for more info.

Some recent additions to the Excellence Gateway include a Spotlight on Numeracy section, with links to useful resources and ideas for numeracy teaching, and a briefing paper on LDD, including dyslexia and dyscalculia. Find out more from the attached article.

Finally: is your organisation is based in the Yorkshire and the Humber region? If so, make sure you take up the opportunity to promote your courses through Business Link's new Skills Brokerage Platform - see the article below.

Happy surfing!
