A reminder that the closing date for applications to the LSIS regional 'Support for Literacy, Language and Numeracy' (SfLLN) programmes is the 10th of September. To find out more, see the article below.

Communities of Practice in Adult Literacies (CoPAL)
The new CoPAL site, managed by Learning and Teaching Scotland, allows people to share videos as well as engage in discussions

Dyslexia and Maths: Friday 8th October, 10:00 – 16:00, Selby College
This one-day event will look at: factors which affect maths and numeracy learning; testing to diagnose difficulties; setting up programmes to help overcome the difficulties and using strategies and resources to teach particular areas of mathematics and numeracy.

General Professional Recognition Learning and Skills (GPRLS)
The deadline for applications to the centrally funded Recognition scheme is 6th October 2010. The GPRLS scheme enables competent and experienced teachers to be recognised according to the requirements established by the FE Teachers' Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007.
